Wednesday 19/Aug/2015 - Day 1.
Hiking from l'Echalp (Ristolas) to 'Belvédère du Viso' and to the 'Refuge du Viso' - 3.5h.
More and more fog (or clouds?).
Early afternoon, 'Rifugio Giacoletti' (2741m).
Scary looking stones, even more frightening in the smog.
Rifugio Quintino Sella (2640m).
One liter for two, that's perfect.

Picnic at the Vallanta stream (1905m).
Reaching the 'Rifugio Vallanta' (2450m), after a 6.5 hours hike.

Hiking from l'Echalp (Ristolas) to 'Belvédère du Viso' and to the 'Refuge du Viso' - 3.5h.

Thursday 20/Aug/2015 - Day 2.
Hiking from the 'Refuge du Viso', through the 'Tunnel de la Traversette' (border crossing), to the 'Refugio Giacolletti', to the 'Colle dei Viso and finally to the Rifugio Stella - 8h.

Near the mountain pass, the "Tunnel de la Traversette" (Il buco di Viso),
Built during the renaissance, the first alpine tunnel.
The (restored) tunnel avoids the mountain pass, and crosses the French-Italian border.
This is the entrance on the French side.

From Rifugio Vallanta to the border at the 'Passo di Vallanta', and back to the the car.
