Monument along the 55km road from Kars to Ani.

Another point of view to the same tragedy.

More traffic on this quiet road.

Ani ruins.

Entrance of the Ani ruins site.

 Few other tourists.

The first church of Saint Gregory, near to the canyon.

Depicting strange activities.
The first church of Saint Gregory.

 Bird watching.

Church of the reedemer, destroyed by lightning.
Notice the Armenian watch tower in the background.

The cathedral, completed 1001.

The cathedral seems gothic, even if the style appeared hundreds of years later !

Found a cool meditation place in the window opening of the ancient mosque.

... with a view on the Arkhurian river and the bridge ruins.
At the left hand side Turkey, at the right hand side Armenia.
Notice the NATO border protection.  This is a conflict zone.

The second church of Saint Gregory.

On the road again.

This region is famous for its honey.

The road runs through poor vilages and through the river.
